How do we reduce the costs of lighting installation?
For over 20 years, we have been designing and delivering lighting fixtures to explosion hazard zones. During this time, we have diagnosed many bottlenecks that can significantly increase the total costs of lighting installation for investors. By creating the independently operating company HARDO from the WOLFF GROUP, we decided to manufacture lighting fixtures in such a way that, while maintaining high-quality products, we could minimize costs for investors.
In the following animations, we only presented 2 of many solutions that reduce the costs of lighting installation.
No junction boxes, fewer cables
We’ve eliminated the need for expensive Ex junction boxes, which also reduced the amount of necessary cabling along with the trays.
Adjusting the light direction with lenses
OptiLine is a lighting fixture that eliminates the need for mounting special brackets to direct light to important places (switches, valves, extinguishers, etc.). Why is it unique? Because it offers the possibility to use as many as 22 lenses mounted on the LED module. They allow changing the direction of light without additional accessories, which is not possible in most competitive fixtures.
Exceptionally wide range of luminous power with high efficiency of the complete fixture
The ATEX OptiLine lighting fixture is distinguished by its versatility:
- It comes in two lengths (600 mm and 1270 mm),
- Each length is available in three power variants,
- For each variant, one of three types of diffusers can be chosen.
In total, this provides 18 possible configurations of basic lighting fixtures (+ 22 possible directional lenses) allowing to achieve a light flux from 2931 lm up to 10342 lm. All this is possible while maintaining very high efficiency – the efficiency values for the complete basic lighting fixture range from 146 lm/W to 181 lm/W.
Not so obvious, but changing reality competitive advantages
Fixtures in versions: transparent, frosted, and opal
The EX LED OptiLine series of lighting fixtures offers remarkable versatility thanks to three types of diffusers: transparent, frosted, and opal. Each provides a slightly different light transmittance, suitable for different applications of the fixture in an industrial plant.
Transparent diffuser
The transparent diffuser is ideal for areas that require strong lighting, both outdoors and in large indoor spaces.
- Highest light fluxes – up to 10342 lm
- Highest flexibility – in this case, you can use 22 directing lenses
Frosted diffuser
The frosted diffuser is a great choice outdoors as well as indoors, where light intensity is important, but at the same time, you need to reduce glare.
- Light fluxes up to 9981 lm without glare
- Gently diffused light
Opal diffuser
The opal diffuser, with its light dispersion, provides comfortable interior lighting, ideal for creating a pleasant work atmosphere.
- Light fluxes up to 8747 lm without glare
- Perfect for interiors
Innovative solution with glands and power connectors
Many lighting fixtures on the market have significant limitations regarding the number and size of cable glands, resulting in higher installation costs. Particularly, fixtures with a single gland or with a factory-exited cable require the use of expensive ATEX junction boxes and more installation materials. The Ex OptiLine fixture is innovative in this context, offering the possibility of mounting up to four M20 or M25 glands. This feature allows for direct connection of the lamps, reducing the need for additional junction boxes and materials, which is particularly beneficial in the case of installations involving a larger number of fixtures.
Want to use flame-retardant cables or those with larger cross-sections? No problem!
The explosion-proof OptiLine fixture allows the use of M25 glands, increasing the range of cables with larger cross-sections. This gives users flexibility in choosing cable manufacturers and the ability to use thicker, flame-retardant wires. Moreover, the larger diameter of glands allows for the use of cables with larger cross-sections of conductors, which is key in reducing voltage drops, especially in critical emergency lighting systems that must operate at temperatures exceeding 600°C
From an installer’s perspective: safe and quick installation
Quick opening, power connection, and subsequent closing of the fixture, when installing dozens or hundreds of lamps, translates into real savings of working hours. The diffuser and mounting plate on hinges and captive screws are another facilitation. You don’t need to find a place to put them down. Nothing will fall, get lost, or get damaged. The absence of loose parts means that nothing occupies your hands and mind. It also eliminates the risk of damaging the machines below and contaminating the manufactured product.
The latches in the diffuser according to the ATEX directive require the use of a tool, and if necessary, the diffuser can be detached from the body.”
