Mills for Powders

We deliver a broad variety of equipment and complete technologies for milling loose materials to micro and nano scales. Our offer includes a selection of a proper solution (also on the basis of tests with the real product), as well as delivery and installation.

Dry milling systems are constructed on the basis of three types of machines: impact mills, jet mills, cutting mills. However, our offer also includes mills for operation in a liquid phase.

1. IMPACT MILLS

Impact mills are the type of mills more frequently applied for milling loose materials. They are fitted for milling a broad variety of products in a large range of the required fineness of grinding.

In impact mills, the material is milled through breaking, grinding and crushing on the milling tools of the mill. Impact mills can be equipped with an air classifier enabling a precise determining of grinding fineness of the milled material.

Condux all-purpose impact mill

  • Milling of materials in the range of 30 – 1500 μm with a maximum hardness of up to 3.5 in the Mohs scale
  • Mill with a rotor that can be fitted with a broad variety of milling elements as proper for milling a particular product

Impact mill with a CSM classifier

  • Milling materials in the range of 10 – 300 μm with a maximum hardness of up to 3.5 in the Mohs scale
  • Mill with a milling rotor and an air classifier having a separate drive
  • Delivery of the mill itself or a mill with the whole accompanying system
  • Design for operation in an explosion risk zone (Ex)

2. JET MILL

Jet mills are used for milling very hard materials, to a very high grinding fineness, and in the situation where the milled material has to be of a very high purity and free of impurities occurred in the milling process.

In jet mills, the material is set in motion by the gas (air) supplied under pressure. Accelerated material particles collide with each other and break up into smaller fragments. It is possible to achieve this way the material fineness which is unattainable for impact mills.

Since the material is crushed as a result of the product-product contact, there are no standard milling devices in the mill that can wear out. The mill is equipped with an air classifier enabling a precise determining of grinding fineness of the milled material. Necessary equipment of a jet mill includes a compressor delivering compressed air and a filter collecting the product.

  • Milling materials in the range of 2 – 120 μm with a maximum density of up to 10 in the Mohs scale
  • Jet mill with a fluidized bed and an air classifier

ConJet jet mill with a high deposit density

  • Milling materials in the range of 2 – 40 μm

3. CUTTING MILLS

Cutting mills are most frequently used for cutting and crushing soft materials with a fibrous structure.
In cutting mills, milling is effected by cutting the material between cutting tools mounted on a moving rotor and the mill body. Cutting mills are fitted with a strainer setting the size of the material ground.
