RECONSTRUCTION OF A DUST EXTRACTION SYSTEM AFTER AN EXPLOSION
In this case, our task was to rebuild the filtration unit destroyed in a combustible dust explosion. In reality, this meant construction of an entirely new filter and equipping it with all required explosion protection systems. This, however, was not the hardest part of the task. The real challenge was the incredibly short period of time available for completion and difficult installation.
The filter with the capacity of 32,000 m3/h was to be placed on the roof an over 50-metre building. The task could only be completed using a helicopter or a very powerful crane (400 tonnes lifting capacity). Due to the large amount of buildings in the area and limited visibility, we decided to use the crane. Despite the difficult conditions, the works were completed very smoothly.
