ProGas 4 Detector
The ProGas 4 sensor is a device that, despite its industrial nature, cannot be used in hazardous areas. This has its advantages, as it allows it to use the widest possible range of sensors to detect, for example, sulphur hexafluoride used in the energy industry and RX gases.
Unique features
Flexibility and very wide configurability
The head is designed for the detection of sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) and Rx refrigerant gases, among others
The broadest possible range of sensors, which are individually selected to meet your needs
The ProGas 4 detector is based on a newly designed electronic platform with Bluetooth communication. The measuring head (‘FL, FH’) has also been redesigned, so that the ProGas 4 sensor working with the pellistor sensor has achieved more than double the response times (T90) in tests*. It is currently one of the fastest devices on the market which, in addition is the only one of the sensors manufactured in Poland, ensures protection level IP67 (as an additional option to protect the measuring mechanisms against water and dust, by means of an additional Teflon membrane). The radio interface (Bluetooth) used provides the possibility of remote calibration and configuration of the sensor.
Extremely simple danger indication
The ProGas 4 is also equipped with the innovative R-G-OFF (GAS-OK) system. It is a safety system that allows the efficiency of the system and the level of safety to be assessed at any time. The R-G-OFF system has been designed on the basis of easy-to-recognise light signals. The guiding principle is that any light message other than the green light obliges staff to respond immediately. This system is applicable to the ProGas 4 detector through the use of an LTT optical/sound signalling device. It is equipped with independently configurable and controllable light modules with ultra-bright LEDs to provide a reliable, clear and suitably detailed source of information about hazards in the area.

Why choose the ProGas 4 detector?
- Variety of gases and vapours detected.
- Wide range of operating temperatures.
- Large selection of user interfaces: Modbus ASCII, 4 – 20 mA, relay outputs, radio interface (Bluetooth).
- Can be supplied with sound signalling.
- Dedicated accessories for the sensor.
- The sensor is equipped with a state-of-the-art head for optimum metrology performance
- Achieve IP66/IP67 if necessary (if a suitable membrane is used)
- Configurable current source (source/sink)
- Non-invasive calibration and configuration – the sensor can be calibrated and parameterised (e.g. alarm threshold values) without opening the housing or disabling other parts of the Gas Safety System.
- A solution for calibrating sensors located in hard-to-reach places.
- Remote communication with the sensor.
- Electronic compensation for ambient temperature effects.
- Self-diagnostic function.
- Storage of parameters in the sensor’s memory such as: CAS number of the substance, location name, serial number, time between mandatory calibrations.
The sensor measures the concentration of the component in question and then converts it into a signal that can be understood by other devices in the gas detection system. In addition to performing the measurement, the sensor analyses the value of the measured concentration and can report if the following threshold values are exceeded:
- Warning 1,
- Warning 2,
- Alarm,
- Gas overload (threatening to damage the sensor).
In addition to the above, the sensor is a self-diagnosing device – if a malfunction is detected, it informs the user.
